DAGUPAN CITY -- The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) provincial office in Pangasinan confiscated 50 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of PHP340,000 from three individuals in an anti-drug operation held here on Tuesday.

In an interview Wednesday, PDEA Pangasinan team leader Retchie Camacho said the arrested suspects, Bernadette Navarro, Marcos Paras and Noel Muerong, are considered high-value targets (HVT).

“We did surveillance on the suspects long before our operation, and we concluded that they are HVTs due to the number of transactions they engaged in,” he said.

The suspects are known to operate in central Pangasinan.

Aside from the 10 sachets of suspected shabu, authorities also recovered one genuine PHP1,000 bill and two bundles of boodle money used to entrap the suspects, three units of cellphones, and one tricycle used by the suspects in their illegal transactions.

Meanwhile, police also arrested a certain Ramiel Mejia, also a resident of this city, in a separate buy-bust operation.

Police operatives seized three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu using a PHP3,500 marked money.

Cases have been filed against the suspects. (PNA)
