MANILA – Generally fair weather will prevail over the country on Wednesday, a weather specialist said.

The easterlies affecting southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will cause warm and fair weather and will not cause rains, Ana Clauren of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon, however, may experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

These isolated rain showers may likely happen in the afternoon or evening, she added.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas will prevail over the entire archipelago.

Meanwhile, Clauren said the low pressure area (LPA) that PAGASA has been monitoring was last spotted 970 km. east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

"We do not expect this (LPA) to become a typhoon. It is possible that this may bring some rains over the eastern section of Mindanao in the coming days," she said. (PNA)
