BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The provincial government is preparing a 23-room hotel here as the temporary home for front-liners serving in the fight against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Governor Albert Garcia said on Saturday provincial engineers have already inspected and undertaken some renovation on the Hillside Garden Mansions Hotel for more comfort and safety of the front-liners.

Those who will be billeted in the hotel will be provided free transportation to and from their places of assignment.

“They will have no problem as to their food for the provincial government will shoulder it,” the governor said.

“This is just one little way to show how thankful we are for the front-liners who are sacrificing their lives to save others,” Garcia added.

Angel Ortiz-Luis, provincial information officer, said the hotel has 23 rooms, six of which are suites, can accommodate 52 persons.

The owner permitted the province to use it for free, she said.

“The provincial government provided additional beds, aircon units and security for front-liners,” Luis said.

The hotel is on the Roman Highway in Barangay Munting Batangas temporarily stopped operation to undergo renovation. The family of Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia Pineda owns the hotel.

Ortiz-Luis said the provincial government is also eyeing the giant Bataan People’s Center and Bataan Library as isolation centers for Covid-affected persons. (PNA)
