MANILA – The Philippine Science High School (PSHS) in Quezon City is lending its facility to health workers and patients of the Philippine Children's Medical Center (PCMC).
In a text message to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Wednesday, PSHS executive director Lilia Habacon said they have informed the PCMC last April 3 regarding the board of trustees' approval of the use of PSHS gym.
"Installation of chambers, booths, among others, is still ongoing as the area is big. First floor (will be) for front-liners, second floor (is) for PUIs (persons under investigation). There will be different egress for the two," she said.
Habacon does not have an estimated number of workers and patients that would be accommodated in the PSHS as of this posting.
Lending the campus' facility is PSHS' way to help provide temporary shelter to health workers, its contribution in the fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
"We are in the midst of a health crisis that is possibly the worst in our history, and allowing a part of the campus to be used by PCMC is our way of contributing to the fight against Covid-19," PSHS main campus director Lawrence Madriaga said in a statement.
The PSHS management assured that the campus facility will always be cleaned or sanitized to prevent the spread of the virus. (PNA
