Davao Region records more Covid-19 recoveries

DAVAO CITY – The Department of Health in Davao Region (DOH-11) has recorded a total of 50 recoveries from the 90 positive cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Saturday afternoon (April 11).

Out of the total number of Covid-19 patients, 14 have already died.

DOH-11 also said of the 90 cases, 74 are from this city, nine are in Davao del Norte, three in Davao Oriental, two in Davao del Sur, and two in Davao de Oro. Davao Occidental remained Covid-19 free as of Saturday.

The agency continues to advise the public to maintain a healthy body and to strengthen their immune system to avoid the dreaded disease.

It constantly reminds people to stay at home, observe social distancing when going out to buy necessities, and to regularly wash hands.

Meanwhile, DOH announced on Saturday the modification of terms for patients under investigation (PUIs) and patients under monitoring (PUMs) to categorize Covid-19 cases.

Cases are now to be called confirmed, suspect and probable cases.

Those tested positive for Covid-19 will be considered "confirmed" cases while, those with symptoms but remain untested will be called "suspected" cases.

Those who are still awaiting results will be called as probable cases. (PNA)
