CEBU CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Central Visayas has rolled out an online portal to cater to registration of new business names.

In an advisory posted on its website on Monday, the DTI-7 said persons who are registering their start-up businesses may visit the BNRS (business name registration system) Next Gen web portal for 24/7 online business name registration.

The web portal was designed to assist business name applicants now that local government units are placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) crisis, the advisory said.

Aster Caberte, regional director of DTI-Central Visayas, said applicants may choose payments options, such as GCash, Paymaya and Landbank Linkbiz, in registering new names.

She said the certificate of business name registration and official receipt will be sent to the applicant’s email.

“For new registration, renewal and request for certification, you may proceed to the given link (https://bnrs.dti.gov.ph/),” the advisory read.

DTI-7 is on a skeletal workforce arrangement during the ECQ period. The queries and concerns are entertained through electronic mailing, the advisory said.

“Pursuant to OP (Office of the President) Memorandum dated 16 March 2020 and DTI DO (Department Order) 20-37, S. 2020, please send all communications via e-mail to [email protected],” it said, adding that queries may be sent to [email protected]. (PNA)
