MANILA – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Wednesday deployed a UH-1D helicopter to help ferry some 605 food packs for families residing in Kibungan, Benguet which is not accessible to land transport.

In a statement Thursday, PAF spokesperson, Maj. Aristides Galang said the Tactical Operations Group 1 based in Baguio City deployed the aircraft to help the Office of Civil Defense-Cordillera Administrative Region and Philippine Red Cross Benguet Chapter supply food to families living in Barangays Baden and Tacadang.

"The PAF utilized its UH-1D utility helicopter and successfully ferried a total of 605 food packs (6,050 kilograms). The said relief operation only shows the government’s concern to those families that are difficult to reach during these trying times," he added.

Galang added that the Air Force is always ready to support any relief efforts in the country while protecting the Filipino people. (PNA)
