MANILA – Budget carriers Cebu Pacific (CEB) and AirAsia Philippines on Wednesday announced further cancellation of all their international and domestic flights from May 16-31.

The announcement comes after Malacañang's declared that Metro Manila, Laguna and Cebu would be under a modified enhanced community quarantine until the end of the month.

In an advisory, CEB said affected passengers may rebook their flights within three months, with rebooking fee and fare difference waived.

They may also opt for a full refund, or place their ticket value in a travel fund that they could use within one year.

On the other hand, those with bookings with AirAsia Philippines, with departure dates between March 23 to July 31, may choose a new travel date before October 31, without additional cost but subject to seat availability.

They may also retain the ticket value in their membership account.

The two carriers earlier announced flight cancellations until May 15, also due to the extension of the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other select areas considered high risk for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

During this period, CEB has been mounting all-cargo flights to support the movement of vital goods, including medicines and personal protective equipment across the country.

From March 16 to May 4, AirAsia mounted several recovery flights in coordination with different local government units, and Philippine embassies in Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia. (PNA
