Drug suspect out on probation gunned down in NegOr town

DUMAGUETE CITY – A probationer facing drug charges was shot dead in the municipality of Sibulan in Negros Oriental at sundown Wednesday.

A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) on Thursday identified the victim as Roberto Alejo Silva, 40, married, and a resident of Upper Pancil in Barangay Looc of the said town.

Initial police investigation showed that the victim was returning home after buying a cigarette when three unidentified suspects shot him without provocation.

Silva was out on probation after being previously arrested in Ayungon, Negros Oriental.

Investigators recovered 15 pieces of fired cartridge, one misfired cartridge, a deformed .45-caliber slug, and a motorcycle owned by the victim. (PNA)
