MANILA – The Department of National Defense (DND) on Tuesday received from the Israeli government assorted medical supplies intended for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The donation was to aid the Philippines’ response efforts to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), DND spokesperson Arsenio Andolong said in a statement Wednesday.

"The medical donation was received by DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana from Israel’s Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Rafael Harpaz during a turnover ceremony held at Villamor Air Base, Pasay City," he added.

The donation consists of 50,000 medical gloves; 30,000 surgical masks; and 3,000 N-95 filtered face masks; 4,500 medical gowns; 1,500 face shields, and 50 non-contact thermometers.

The medical supplies were handed over to the Office of Civil Defense for inventory and distribution, Andolong added. (PNA)
