ZAMBOANGA CITY – Law enforcement authorities arrested 11 people and seized some PHP15,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate operations, an official said Saturday.
Maj. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the suspects Umman Barahama, 50; Sitti Sharifa Ahmad, 20; Jul Khaliff Sali, 31; Alfausi Sawabi, 33; Abdulhaiber Hanapi, 35; Jasper Quinanolla; Wahab Omar, 31; Hamza Sala, 21; Rashmier Limpasan, 21; John Mike Suico, 23; and, Albert Geraldiso, 31.
Galvez said Barahama and Ahmad were arrested with some PHP70,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP1,000 marked money in a buy-bust around 7:50 p.m. Friday in Barangay Arena Blanco here.
Sali, meanwhile, yielded some PHP40,000 worth of suspects shabu and PHP500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust around 11:20 p.m. Friday in Barangay Kasanyanga, police said.
Sawabi, on the other hand, yielded some PHP19,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP1,00 marked money in a buy-bust around 8 a.m. Friday Barangay Rio Hondo.
Hanapi, Quinanolla, and Omar yielded some PHP10,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 mark money in a buy-bust around 6:30 a.m. Friday in Barangay Kasanyangan.
Galvez said Sala and Limpasan yielded 750 grams of dried marijuana leaves and PHP500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust around 4 a.m. Friday in Sitio Pasay, Barangay San Roque.
She said Suico was arrested with 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu, PHP500 marked money, a motorcycle, and illegal drug paraphernalia around 5:10 p.m. Friday in Purok Alimango, Barangay Baylimango, Dapitan City.
Geraldiso, meanwhile, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Friday in Purok Pluto, Barangay Bangkerohan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. Seized from him were some PHP2,500 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money, police said.
Galvez said formal charges are set to be filed against the suspects. (PNA)
