ILOILO CITY – Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. on Saturday signed an executive order allowing 1,500 inbound locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) weekly at the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan town.
Executive Order 128-C amends his previous Executive Order 128 which places the province under a modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Defensor met with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Air Asia on June 18.
“Only a maximum of 1,500 passengers shall be allowed in inbound flights per week,” the EO read.
Defensor said the sale of airline tickets to LSIs and OFWs, whose trips are not organized by the Overseas Workers Welfare Authority (OWWA), shall be required with valid government-issued identification card showing residence, citizenship, or occupation.
These LSIs and OFWs will also be required of medical certificate and travel authority before the issuance of their boarding pass.
The governor said returning OFWs and LSIs from high-risk areas shall be subjected to reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test and may be placed under a 14-day quarantine.
The airline company or the CAAP will provide the province with the flight manifest at least two days before any flight, Defensor said.
“Chartered flights of OFWs shall be separate from the flights carrying LSI passengers,” he said.
In the same order, the MGCQ in the province was also extended by the governor until June 30, including all quarantine procedures and disease prevention measures. (PNA)
