Pinoy recoveries abroad exceed 5K-mark

MANILA – The number of overseas Filipinos who recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) rose to 5,101 after 10 more were reported in the Asia Pacific, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Tuesday.

Most of the recoveries were recorded in the Middle East/Africa with 3,787, followed by the Asia Pacific with 521, Europe with 420, and the Americas with 373.

The DFA also logged seven new confirmed cases and two fatalities, raising the total to 8,474 and 549, respectively.

As of this writing, there are 60 countries with confirmed Covid-19 cases among overseas Filipinos with one new country in Africa being added to the list.

"The DFA, together with its foreign service posts, continues to monitor the status of our nationals and strives to assist returning Filipinos affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, whenever possible," the DFA said. (PNA
