MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will conduct another round of rapid testing for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among its workers and detainees starting Thursday.

Speaking to newsmen Wednesday, NBI deputy director and spokesperson Ferdinand Lavin said there will be restrictions anew even as the partial lockdown it declared is still ongoing.

"It means we will still limit walk-ins. We will engage those who registered online for clearance and those who were issued subpoenas," Lavin said.

He added that confirmatory tests on five individuals who tested positive in previous rapid testing, resulted in one positive and four negative results.

A senior citizen detainee at the bureau was rushed to a hospital on June 14 and died on June 16. He was found positive for Covid-19 based on test results.

The NBI has put up an isolation room where those who tested positive in rapid testing would be placed. (PNA)
