CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan – Authorities arrested eight big-time drug dealers and confiscated some 10 kilos of shabu worth PHP70 million in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Pandayan, Meycauayan City, this province on Wednesday.

Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, regional police director for Central Luzon, said the operations were conducted by joint elements of Meycauayan City Police, Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) Bulacan, PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Sermonia identified the arrested suspects as Sandy Domingo, Nida Barrientos, Rhodora Jose, Christian Villaflores, Milky Joy Principe, Kevin Limbo, Bernard Flores, and Clifford Bello who were on board a gray Toyota Camry with license plate XNF 319 around 9:30 am.

“The syndicate has open access to warehouses operated by a group with direct connections to the main source of illegal drugs from mainland China and are responsible for the bulk distribution of illegal drugs in Central Luzon, Metro Manila and some parts of Southern Tagalog areas,” he said.

No other detail was released yet concerning the operations.

Sermonia said the recent gains in the neutralization of big-time illegal drugs syndicate are part of the cohesive campaign of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon.

“This is in compliance with the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to seize every opportunity to be on the offensive against illegal drug operators, which PNP chief General Archie Francisco Gamboa reiterated to all police commanders,” he added.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Sections 5, 11, 26, Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2020. (PNA)
