ZAMBOANGA CITY--The City Health Office here is undertaking the necessary preparations for the resumption of the conduct of the Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio.

The anti-polio campaign slated from March 23 to April 4 has been suspended when this city was placed under enhanced community quarantine on March 20 due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

Corazon Pagotaisidro, City Health Office’s Immunization Program Coordinator, said Monday that the Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio in this city will resume on July 20. The immunization ends August 2.

Pagotaisidro said they are currently conducting orientation in the 16 health districts on how to conduct the immunization according to the Covid-19 protocols.

The health protocols that will be followed are as follows: no-touch policy, no entry to the houses of the children to be vaccinated, hand sanitation before and after vaccinating each patient, and wearing of face mask.

Pagotaisidro said the City Health Office will utilize 900 personnel in the anti-polio immunization drive targeting some 205,780 children aged zero to 10 years old.

“Please let your children avail the vaccination. This is safe, effective, and no overdose,” Pagotaisidro said. (PNA)
