ZAMBOANGA CITY--Health authorities here have logged four new additional coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, increasing the total tally to 253.

The local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Covid-19 identified the new cases as ZC250, ZC251, ZC252, and ZC253, whose laboratory test results were released Tuesday evening.

In a health bulletin on Wednesday, the task force said ZC250 is a 35-year old male from Barangay Arena Blanco here, who is currently admitted to the Covid-19 referral center of the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).

ZC251, meanwhile, is a 25-year old female, locally stranded individual (LSI) from Manila. She is asymptomatic.

The task force said that ZC252 is a 60-year old female from Barangay Camino Nuevo, who is currently admitted to a private hospital due to cough and fever and was transferred to the government-owned ZCMC.

ZC253, on the other hand, is a 52-year old female from Barangay Pasonanca, who was admitted at a private hospital due to body malaise and later transferred to ZCMC.

As of Wednesday, the task force said the city has 71 active cases, with 174 recoveries and eight deaths.

“Our constant appeal is for the public to limit movement to only essential activities, practice minimum health standards and strictly comply quarantine guidelines to help curb the spread of Covid-19,” the task force said. (PNA)
