ILIGAN CITY – Four police officers were wounded when unidentified armed men fired at the quarantine checkpoint in the Misamis Occidental town of Concepcion Thursday morning.

Maj. Jonathan Astillero, officer-in-charge of Police Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU) of Misamis Occidental Police Office, said the wounded police officers were on duty in Barangay Putongan during the incident.

Hurt during the attack were Corporal Marvin Intong, Staff Sgt. Larry Millan, Corporal Leo Gumisad, and Patrolwoman Richel Taṅola.

They were evacuated at a hospital in Ozamiz City where their conditions are still being monitored as of this posting.

Authorities are investigating the identity of the perpetrators while pursuit operation is underway, Astillero said. (PNA)
