BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office in Caraga Region (PRO-13) has announced the opening of online recruitment for those interested in joining the police service in the area.

Major Renel Serrano, PRO-13 public information officer, said interested applicants may check the PNP Online Recruitment Application System (PNP-ORAS) to get information on the ongoing recruitment.

In an interview Thursday, Serrano said the newly-activated Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit is responsible for the management of the recruitment and selection process for the applicants in the Caraga Region.

He also reminded applicants to have their personal email addresses before accessing the PNP-ORAS as well as other documentary requirements as these will be required to be downloaded to the system.

“The system will only accept PDF, JPEG, or PNG format of scanned documents. Applicants are also required to submit original copies or certified true copies of their documents,” Serrano said.

In a statement Thursday, PRO-13 director Brig. Gen. Joselito Esquivel Jr. encouraged eligible individuals in Caraga "with a strong commitment to serve and protect the country and the region" to join the police service.

“The continuous recruitment program of the Philippine National Police aims to attain the 1:500 PNP to civilian ratio,” Esquivel said, adding the recruitment also aims to "better serve and provide quality police services to the people".

Police recruits, Esquivel said, will augment the more than 205,000-strong PNP family and will be appointed to the initial rank of Police Patrolman/Patrolwoman with a gross monthly salary of PHP29,668 and other benefits.

“PRO-13 will have a quota of 350 for this recruitment and will take the oath upon joining the police service before the end of the third quarter of this year,” Esquivel said.

A total of 200 new police recruits in the Caraga Region took their oath last July 1, 2020, and are now undergoing training at the PRO-13 Training Center. (PNA)
