Covid-19 tally among OFs rose to 9,165: DFA

MANILA -- The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday said 20 more overseas Filipinos (OFs) contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the overall tally to 9,165.

The DFA said the new cases were reported in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe. No case was reported in the Middle East/Africa, which remains with the highest number of infections among Filipinos at 6,605.

As of this posting, the total active cases stand at 3,149 -- at least 163 in the Asia Pacific, 486 in Europe, 2,380 in the Middle East/Africa, and 120 in the Americas.

The DFA also registered two new fatalities, raising the death toll to 647. Meanwhile, no new recovery was reported in its latest bulletin.

With one new report from a country in Europe, the DFA noted that the total number of countries and regions with confirmed cases among Filipino nationals is now 69. (PNA
