BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Governor Albert Garcia on Thursday announced that Bataan has logged another death due to coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) based on the latest report of the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

He also said there were 29 new confirmed Covid-19 cases reported to the PHO.

Garcia said the latest to succumb to coronavirus is a 67-year-old man from Dinalupihan town, who became the 12th fatality in the province.

The governor also said contact tracing showed that 16 of the 29 new confirmed Covid-19 cases had close contact with 16 others who were earlier found positive of the dreaded disease after attending a worship gathering at a hotel in this city last July 19.

The 29 new patients brought to 373 the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province, with 121 in active status.

Of the 7,710 residents who have undertaken Covid-19 test, 373 were confirmed positive, 7,102 tested negative, while 235 are waiting for the results, the PHO said.

“Let us follow established safety protocols and continue on praying,” Garcia told his constituents. (PNA)
