MANILA – The country will continue to experience rains on Friday due to the southwest monsoon.

Samuel Duran, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said monsoon rains will prevail over the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, and Mindoro.

These areas must check the PAGASA's rainfall advisory, Duran said, noting that monsoon rains would range from light to heavy rainfall.

The rest of Luzon is expected to have scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Mindanao will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, strong winds will prevail over the northern and western sections of Luzon.

Coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to strong, with moderate to rough seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
