MANILA – The Pasig City government on Friday urged its residents to immediately approach and contact the city’s operation center (OpCen) upon experiencing any symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
In a Facebook post, the local government said there is no need for the residents to go to the hospital or Super Health Centers as residents may call the OpCen through hotline number: 8-643-0000 or 0961-582-5019, for triaging assistance or any immediate concerns amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Through this call, the representatives from the Pasig City Health Office can assess someone's situation. A recommendation will be given right after the assessment.
The city government has been implementing "triaging effort" wherein persons who called the city's Covid-19 hotline or infected persons who go to the health centers and hospitals, are being assisted and immediately brought to the government quarantine facilities.
Meanwhile, the Pasig City government has temporarily closed four of its barangay health centers after some staff contracted Covid-19.
In a separate post, Mayor Vico Sotto said the healthcare workers and other staff of the Manggahan Super Health Center, Napico Health Center, and Maybunga Floodway Health Center are still waiting for their Covid-19 swab test results.
On the other hand, the personnel of the Caniogan Health Center are still under quarantine and undergoing swab testing for Covid-19.
Sotto said the city government is doing its best to further expand the operational capacity of its health centers.
"We ask for your continuous support and cooperation as we work to increase our healthcare system's capacity every day," he said.
On the other hand, Sotto said the city government on Friday has started the delivery of the new wave of food packs for the residents in Pasig.
"We won't be able to give everybody another round of goods, so we will focus on those under localized ECQ and other areas where needed most," he said.
Sotto reminded anew the residents to stay home to avoid local transmission within communities and always adhere to the government's health protocols. (PNA)
