Filipino Covid-19 case count abroad hits 9,556

MANILA – The coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) case count among Filipinos overseas has increased to 9,556 as the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) recorded 84 more infections in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East on Saturday.

Moreover, five new fatalities were also logged in the Americas and Middle East/Africa region, with the death toll climbing to 671.

But the DFA said 41 more have recovered, raising the total to 5,572.

The majority of those who recovered were from the Middle East/Africa region at 3,970 in total followed by the Asia Pacific region with 646, Europe with 509, and the Americas with 447.

Based on the latest data of the DFA, the total number of those who have recovered from Covid-19 remains at 58 percent of the total confirmed cases.

Those who are under treatment and those who passed on due to the disease are now almost 35 percent and 7 percent, respectively.

Currently, 3,313 Filipinos are undergoing treatment overseas. (PNA)
