DAVAO CITY – Believing that wildlife conservation work must proceed uninterrupted even during a pandemic, a private firm donated boxes of quarantine and maintenance supplies to the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) to sustain its day-to-day needs.

In a statement Sunday, Rodel Prado, property manager of DMCI Homes’ Davao condominium project Verdon Parc, said the company made the donation in response to PEF’s call for support from the public.

PEF's Philippine Eagle Center facility in Malagos, Baguio District remains closed to visitors because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) crisis.

Among the items donated by DMCI Homes through its “Kaakbay ng Kalikasan” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative were insect sprays, soaps, detergent powders, bleaches, multi-purpose cleaners, hand sanitizers, toilet cleaners, and bathroom tissues.

“More than ever, our wildlife conservation centers need all our support so they can continue their admirable work in this difficult period,” Prado said.

As part of the Davao community, their company hopes to be of help to the PEF in providing care for the Philippine Eagles and all animals in their facility, he added.

According to the PEF, the 8.4-hectare Philippine Eagle Center is currently home to 31 Philippine Eagles and other animal species.

Prado also encourages those who wish to donate to visit www.philippineeaglefoundation.org/donate.

In June, DMCI also provided personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

Quadruple A developer DMCI Homes has continued to support the fight against Covid-19 by providing hazmat suits, N95 masks, head caps, and shoe cover, specifically to this city’s medical front-line workers.

Aside from SPMC, they also donated supplies and equipment to other hospitals in Metro Manila such as the Philippine Heart Center, Philippine General Hospital, Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, and the Philippine Children's Medical Center. (PNA)
