Tarlac logs 4 new Covid-19 cases, one death

TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – One death and four new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) were reported in this province on Wednesday as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH).

This brought to 199 the total number of Covid-19 cases and the number of deaths to 12.

The Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force said the latest fatality is a 75-year-old male from Barangay Jose, Concepcion town.

"He had comorbidities and died in a private hospital in Tarlac City due to acute respiratory failure secondary to Covid infection," the task force said.

Meanwhile, the task force said the four newly confirmed patients all have a history of contact with Covid-19 patients.

One of them, a 29-year-old male also from Barangay San Jose, is a health worker. He is now confined at the La Paz Medicare and Community Hospital.

Two others are also from Concepcion -- a 19-year-old female and a 13-year-old male, both from Barangay San Isidro. They are also both confined at the La Paz Medicare and Community Hospital.

The other new case is a 29-year-old male from Barangay Salcedo, San Manuel town. He is now under quarantine.

As a result, the number of active cases in the province is now 99 while the number of recoveries remained at 91. (PNA)
