LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Health-Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD) regional office for Bicol recorded 25 more confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of Wednesday.

A report released on Thursday by the agency said the 25 new cases were distributed as follows: Albay-4; Camarines Sur-4; Masbate-3; Sorsogon-1; Legazpi City-1 and Naga City-12.

Dr. Ernie Vera, head of DOH-CHD Bicol, in the report said with the new cases, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 patients in Bicol rose to 1,562, although active cases are pegged at only 516.

The total number of recoveries is 992, Vera said, while the death tally is 54.

The official said all the new patients are already admitted in hospitals or isolated in patient care facilities.

Vera continues to appeal to the public for cooperation in the fight against Covid-19.

“Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” he said. (PNA)
