Teacher, 5 others nabbed in Zambo anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY--A teacher and five others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, a police official said Monday.

Capt. Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the teacher as Alelyn Gangoso Guynong, 35, who was arrested along with two others in a buy-bust operation around 11:15 p.m. Sunday in Cabato road, Barangay Tetuan here.

Duco identified her two companions as Ayashin Peña Gunong, 35, and Alkhamar Peña Gunong, 33.

]Duco said recovered from the three were some PHP5,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in eight heat-sealed plastic sachets, a coin purse, and PHP100 marked money.

Duco identified the three other arrested suspects as Raynaldo Ulanda Taladji, 33; Abnan Abdurahim Kalim, 38; and Aljimar Habibulla Jurji, 29.

Taladji was arrested in possession of some PHP1,200 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 12:05 a.m. Sunday in Triplet Road, Barangay Canelar here, police said.

Kalim, on the other hand, yielded some PHP5,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:55 p.m. Sunday in Zone 1, Barangay Taluksangay here, police said.

Police, meanwhile, said Jurji yielded some PHP24,200 worth of suspected shabu, a coin purse, and PHP200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:45 p.m. Sunday in Sitio Asinan, Baragay Kasanyangan here.

Duco said all the arrested suspects were detained to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
