PNP Covid-19 recoveries now 5.9K

MANILA – The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that 50 more police officers have recovered from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the total number of recoveries among its ranks to 5,900.

This brings down the number of active cases in the police force to 666, based on data from the PNP Health Service released on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, 71 new infections were reported in the police force, bringing the total number of cases to 6,586.

Of the new cases, 25 are from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga), followed by PRO Cordillera with eight, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has seven, PRO 4-A (Calabrazon) and 6 (Western Visayas) with four each, National Operational Support Unit and PRO 10 (Northern Mindanao) and National Headquarters with three each, PRO 2 (Cagayan Valley), 3 (Central Luzon), 8 (Eastern Visayas) and 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) with two each while National Administrative Support Unit, PRO 1 (Ilocos Region), 7 Central Visayas, 11 (Davao Region), 12 (Soccskargen) and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with one each.

The PNP's Covid-19 death toll stands at 20.

Cops tested for Covid-19 observe a 14-day quarantine and undergo another test.

Once cleared, they have to rest for seven to 10 more days before returning to duty. (PNA)
