DOH-11 Covid-19 regional case bulletin as of Oct. 27, 2020.

DAVAO CITY-The Department of Health in Davao Region (DOH-11) has recorded 115 more people who have recovered from the deadly coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) as of Tuesday evening (Oct. 27, 2020).

In a case bulletin, DOH-11 said the 115 recoveries were from Davao City (108), Davao del Norte (3), Davao del Sur (2), and one each from Davao Occidental and Davao Oriental.

DOH-11 also reported 92 new cases of Covid-19 in the region, bringing the total number of active cases to 1,067. The new cases are from Davao City (59), Davao del Norte (12), Davao Oriental (9), Davao del Sur (6), Davao de Oro (5), and Davao Occidental (1).

Six deaths were also reported--three from this city, two from Davao Oriental, and one from Davao del Sur.

Since the start of the pandemic, DOH-11 has already recorded a total of 3,619  recoveries out of the 4,863 cases in the entire region.

Meanwhile, the city government said it will add five more Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMFs) for Covid-19 patients after the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) reached its full capacity.

In a statement Tuesday, Mayor Sara Z. Duterte said the TTMFs will be used for asymptomatic patients to decongest local hospitals.

“Many asymptomatic patients do not feel anything, so they wouldn’t be brought to SPMC anymore. We will take them and the City Health Office (CHO) will process them to an assigned TTMF,” she said.

"Once the five additional TTMFs are operational, the city will have a total of 11 treatment facilities,” she added.

Duterte said patients who exhibit severe symptoms or in critical condition, and those asymptomatic who belong to the vulnerable sector or with comorbidities would be prioritized for hospital admission.

“The number will still increase since one person can infect several others. If we have 800 active cases, thousands are being traced that is possibly infected,” she said. (PNA)
