PH Covid-19 recoveries rise by 740

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday logged 740 new recovered cases, bringing the overall tally of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide to 329,848.

As of 4 p.m., the DOH also reported 1,761 new confirmed cases and 33 new deaths.

These figures bring the total number of active cases to 39,940 and the death toll to 7,147.

Of the active cases, about 83.3 percent are mild, 10.9 percent are asymptomatic, 2.1 percent are severe, and 3.7 percent are in critical condition.

Quezon City topped the list of places with the most number of newly-confirmed cases at 85. It is followed by the province of Rizal with 74, Caloocan City with 73, Davao City with 70, and Laguna with 69 infections.

A DOH data on October 28 showed that 1,613 or 6.5 percent of 24,652 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

The DOH also reported it has 21,300-bed capacity dedicated to patients with Covid-19. Available are 55 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 58 percent of 13,500 isolation beds and 66 percent of 5,900 ward beds.

About 78 percent of 2,000 ventilators are available for Covid-19 patients' use. (PNA
