PAF transports telco repair equipment to Catanduanes

MANILA – Two Philippine Air Force (PAF) transport aircraft brought equipment for the restoration of telecommunications services and other relief supplies to the typhoon-hit province of Catanduanes on Wednesday.

In a statement, Air Force spokesperson Lt. Col. Aristides Galang said PLDT-Smart Communications, in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and PAF, sent equipment to restore telecommunications services in severely-hit communities in the province.

"A PAF C-130 aircraft flew from Col. Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City to Catanduanes on November 4, 2020 to perform the mission," he added.

Aboard the same flight were 1,400 boxes of food packs and 82 sets of tents from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and seven communications equipment, one roll cable wire, two antennas and one generator set care of the 9th Infantry Division, were also transported to Catanduanes.
