MANILA – An additional 2,033 police personnel were sent back to their respective hometowns under the second round of the localization program of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
In a send-off ceremony on Monday, outgoing PNP chief, Gen. Camilo Cascolan said the program aims “to improve work performance, and morale, and welfare of police personnel across the country”.
The 17 Police Regional Offices (PROs) in the country conducted their simultaneous send-off ceremonies to all reassigned personnel during Monday's flag-raising rites, said Acting Director for Personnel and Records Management, Brig. Gen. Rolando Hinanay.
“We rolled out today the second wave of the PNP Localization Program by reassigning police personnel to their hometowns and places of residence,” he said.
He also pointed out that the program emphasizes personnel’s sense of ownership and importance where he truly came from and in addressing the issues and concerns in their respective localities, particularly on peace and order and security.
“To our personnel who will go back to their hometowns, serve your community with passion and care so our people can truly say 'ang Pulis Ko'y Respetado, Responsable, at Disiplinado',” Cascolan said.
In September, the PNP, through the Directorate for Personnel Records and Management (DPRM) re-deployed 2,222 PNP personnel to hometown assignments where they are now performing their duties.
Cascolan said all sending units are directed to facilitate the clearances, certifications, and other pertinent requirements needed as well as to ensure travel health protocols are observed.
In coordination with local government units, Hinanay added that reassigned personnel will strictly observe the required health standards and protocols in all phases of the program to ensure that workplace measures, rules, and regulations are complied with to prevent and control the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
