MANILA – The people in the provinces of Albay and Camarines Sur have regained access to all of Globe Telecom Inc.’s (Globe) mobile services on Tuesday.

In a statement, Globe said voice, text, and internet services have been “fully restored” in the two provinces, more than a week after Super Typhoon Rolly battered the Bicol Region, particularly the island-province of Catanduanes.

“Globe’s network operations teams have also been working alternate shifts and traveling long distances to restore severely affected cell sites, to complete restoration in remaining areas of ground-zero typhoon site, Catanduanes,” Globe said.

So far, Globe has fully restored its services in Bato, San Andres, and Virac in Catanduanes.

It has also provided free text, calls, and data to its mobile and broadband users in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes, aside from reversing charges for broadband customers for the days that they had no internet access.

Earlier, Smart Communications announced that it has “normalized” its services in Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and other areas that were affected by “Rolly”, except in areas with no power and are still inaccessible. (PNA)
