BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform in Caraga Region (DAR-13) launched on Thursday the Support for Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (Project SPLIT) to improve the land tenure security of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
Implemented in 80 provinces and 15 regions, including Caraga, the project seeks to subdivide around 1.368 million hectares of lands covered by collective CLOAs or Certificates of Land Ownership Award, into individual land titles.
DAR-13 Regional Director Leomides R. Villareal said a total of 103,586 hectares of lands previously issued with collective titles by DAR would be subjected to Project SPLIT in the region.
“Our target land area will represent around 7.6 percent of the total target of coverage of DAR nationwide,” Villareal said.
He said the project has a nationwide budget of PHP24.6 billion, with Caraga Region being allocated PHP1.73 billion.
“The Project SPLIT will be implemented with our partner government agencies such as the Land Registration Authority (LRA) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR),” Villareal said.
Among other agencies involved in the project are the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the government financial institution, and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), he added. (PNA)
