TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – A total of 103 patients in the province have recovered from coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the highest number reported in a single day as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) on Friday.
This brought the total number of recoveries to 866, which reduced the number of active cases to 258.
The Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force said the new recoveries came from Capas with 31, Tarlac City with 29, Paniqui with 12, Concepcion with 11, Mayantoc with six, La Paz with five, Bamban with three, two each from Sta Ignacia and Gerona, and one each from Camiling and Victoria.
The task force said the highest number of recoveries from Capas came from Barangay Talaga with 11.
Barangay Talaga was placed under a 14-day lockdown last Nov. 10 following a sudden spike in Covid-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the task force reported 14 new confirmed cases, bringing the total cases to 1,166.
The new positive cases came from the city with five, Capas with four, Concepcion with three, and Gerona with two.
On the other hand, the two new deaths, both senior citizens from Concepcion were reported, bringing the death tally to 42.
Governor Susan Yap reminded her constituents to observe the minimum health standards for the safety of everyone.
Yap cited the importance of intensified health and safety measures, including strict border controls by the provincial government as well as the local government units, to curb the cases.
Disinfection activities are also ongoing as precautionary measures against the virus. (PNA)
