MANILA – Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Wednesday motored to Norzagay, Bulacan, to deliver a package of aid and cheers to victims severely hit by the recent Typhoon Ulysses which ravaged the province. He was met full-force by local government officials and beneficiaries who enthusiastically welcomed him for the visit.

Go was received by Bulacan 3rd District Rep. Lorna Silverio, Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando, and Vice Gov. Willie Alvarado. Also around to meet the senator is Norsagaray Mayor  Alfredo Germar and Vice Mayor and Vice Mayor Rogelio Santos who came with the members of the municipal council.

The chairpersons of the 13 barangays of Norzagaray led by Barangay Captain Paulo Germar with wife Queency were present to help organize the beneficiaries assemble in the Praise Valley of JIL where the event took place. They saw to it that everybody observes social distancing and to wear masks and face shields.

The occasion is the first opportunity for the local officials and their constituents to come close with Go.

In his brief speech, Go, who chairs the Senate Committee on Health, reminded the beneficiaries not to hesitate to go to any of the two Malasakit Centers in the province for medical assistance. He said the centers are a one-stop venue where everyone can avail of medical and health services.

Go is the author of the Malasakit Center Act of 2019 to institutionalize the help centers in all government-run hospitals to cover more indigent Filipino patients in providing medical and financial assistance.

Local officials and beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Go for his assistance to the province.

“This is the first time that we shared the same table on stage, and despite his being closest to the power in Malacañang has remained very humble and down to earth,” Silverio said. (PNA)
