DAVAO CITY – The office of Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo "Pulong" Duterte, in partnership with other government agencies, is set to conduct a three-day livelihood assistance and anti-drug caravan this month.

In a statement Monday, Rep. Duterte said his office will collaborate with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for the campaign.

It said the "Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), Livelihood and Anti-Drug" caravan aims to provide cash assistance while bringing the government's anti-drug advocacy to beneficiaries.

More than 23,000 marginalized and displaced workers tapped for the TUPAD initiative are expected to receive financial aid, while around 3,000 beneficiaries will receive livelihood packages during the December 16-18 event.

Duterte's office said the beneficiaries include workers of hotels, bars, and restos, as well as massage therapists and blind masseurs, single parents, persons with disability, service crews, and fisherfolks.

“Aside from giving cash aid, Duterte encouraged all the beneficiaries to participate in the government's anti-drug campaign, which is a priority agenda under President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration,” the lawmaker's office said. (PNA)
