PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – The city government here has earmarked PHP50-million for the purchase of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

In an announcement on Friday, Mayor Adrianne Mae Cuevas said they were set to coordinate with Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., Covid -19 response chief implementer and vaccine czar, regarding their plans.

"Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin po tayo sa iba’t ibang accredited suppliers ng anti-Covid vaccines (We are also coordinating with different accredited suppliers of anti-Covid vaccines)," Cuevas said.

She maintained that the city government is all set against Covid-19.

"Makakaasa po kayo na lagi pong handa ang ating pamahalaang lungsod sa pagsugpo ng Covid-19 pandemic (Rest assured that our city government is always ready to curb Covid-19 pandemic)," Cuevas said in her social media post.

The city government earlier provided at least PHP6,000 to every household, on top of rice, meat, and vegetables, at the height of lockdown due to the pandemic.

It also launched a massive free rapid testing, established quarantine or isolation facilities, and provided personal protective equipment to front-liners amid the strict public health standards imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force. (PNA)
