COTABATO CITY – A hospital in Tacurong City has been temporarily shut down after four of its workers turned out positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Mayor Angelo Montilla declined to name the health facility but said the temporary closure that started Thursday will last until January 21.
“This is to allow disinfection inside and outside the facility,” Montilla said.
The facility is located along the national highway in Alunan Avenue of the city.
The four infected workers are now inside the Tacurong City Ligtas Covid-19 center.
On Wednesday, the office of the city mayor and City Council session hall had to be closed off for 14 days after an employee has tested positive for the virus.
Montilla said the hospital was directed to make an action plan for the reopening of the health facility, including safety of personnel, preparedness, mitigation, response, and contingency plans.
As of Thursday, Tacurong City has 56 active Covid-19 cases. (PNA)
