TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – At least 12 Tarlaqueños have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Friday.

This brought the total number of recoveries to 1,384 while the active cases dropped to 161.

Of the new recoveries, the Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force said four came from this city and another four from Capas town and one each from Lapaz, San Jose, Concepcion, and Camiling.

The task force, however, said four new confirmed cases were reported in the province for a total tally of 1,609 since March last year.

The four confirmed infections were from Anao, Gerona, Moncada, and Paniqui.

The total number of deaths, on the other hand, remained at 64.

Meanwhile, Mayor Cristy Angeles said the city government has been preparing for mass vaccination against Covid-19.

Angeles said the city government would launch an electronic immunization registry for the city’s 76 villages through a QR code system and web-based program for those who want to be vaccinated.

“Ang pagtanggap ng bakunang ito ay libre at kusang ibibigay sa mga nais mabakunahan (The vaccine is free and will be provided to those who want to be vaccinated)," she said. (PNA)
