CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – Joint operatives of the military, police, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have seized motorbikes, various firearm components, and five grams of suspected shabu during a simultaneous law enforcement operation in Pikit, North Cotabato, on Wednesday.

Major Gen. Juvymax Uy, Army’s 6th Infantry Division commander, identified the targets of the operation as Ibrahim Dinga of Sitio Gadungan, Barangay Nunguan; and Jerry Sagandingan of Sitio Palao, Barangay Balatican.

Armed with search and arrest warrants issued by a local court, combined elements from the 90th Infantry Battalion, PDEA in Region 12, North Cotabato Police Provincial Office, and the Pikit police launched the simultaneous operation on Wednesday morning but failed to arrest the suspects, Uy said.

“Unfortunately, both targets managed to elude arrest as they fled before the arrival of the raiding teams,” Uy said Thursday.

Confiscated during the twin operations were 15 motorcycles, disassembled parts of various high-powered firearms, 10 rounds of .50-caliber ammunition, five grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP34,000; and drug paraphernalia.

Uy said pursuit operations are ongoing against the suspects. (PNA)
