Davao Region logs 13K Covid-19 recoveries

DAVAO CITY--Davao Region has recorded 13,320 recoveries or 79.9 percent of its coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases since the pandemic was declared in March last year, the Department of Health in Region 11 (DOH-11) said.

In a regional situation update released Wednesday evening, DOH-11 said this city tops with the most number of recovered patients at 9,226, followed by Davao del Norte (1,688), Davao del Sur (990), Davao Oriental (643), Davao de Oro (616), and Davao Occidental (157).

DOH-11 also reported that of the 1,504 persons tested on Wednesday, at least 202 tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of active cases to 2,670.

Of the new cases, 102 are from here, 34 are from Davao del Norte, 26 are from Davao de Oro, 17 are from Davao Oriental, 13 are from Davao del Sur, and 10 are from Davao Occidental.

The new cases consisted of three Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF), and the rest are local cases.

DOH-11 also reported 12 deaths from Davao City (11) and Davao del Norte (1). (PNA)
