MANILA – Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano ordered the local police to probe the killing of former councilor Richard Paul Jordan.

“The Taguig City government expresses its deepest condolences to the loved ones that former Councilor Richard Paul Jordan left behind. The City Government and the whole Taguig Citizenry mourn with his family,” Cayetano said in a statement posted on his social media account on Thursday night.

He, meanwhile, assured residents and stakeholders that the city government would not condone violence in any form and do everything to ensure that justice is served.

“Taguig City has been working hard to become a city where people are safe and secure, as one of its priority agenda points. This crime against its people will not deter the City and will give it the determination to work even more passionately. The city reassures everyone that it will continue to take action towards peace and order in Taguig,” he said.

The Taguig police will form a special investigation team to look into the incident.

Initial probe showed two suspects shot Jordan several times along Dinggin Bayan St. in Barangay Ibayo Tipas at around 10 a.m. Thursday and immediately fled from the scene.

Recovered from the crime scene were three slugs of caliber .45 and eight spent shells. (PNA)
