MANILA – To overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go emphasized that all Covid-19 health and safety protocols being enforced by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases must apply to all and not favor certain groups and individuals.

Go was reacting to various incidents that recently went viral and earned public ire over alleged violations of pandemic protocols.

Pantay-pantay dapat at no exceptions dahil importante ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino (The government does not anyone when it comes to health protocols. We all urge Filipinos to follow them. All should be treated equally because every Filipino life matters),” Go said.

If we want to immediately recover from this pandemic, we should follow them because ours and the lives of our loved ones are at stake),” he added.

Meanwhile, Go urged the proper authorities to investigate incidents and hold responsible those involved where possible violations have been admittedly made.

Many of our countrymen are already burdened. Don't let the violations of a few be an added burden to the many. And to those who want to gamble away their lives, spare those who don't want to get sick because the entire health system is affected),” he said.

Go emphasized that such incidents must serve as a wake-up call for all Filipinos to strictly comply with health protocols, especially now that cases of the Covid-19 variant, B.1.1.7, have been reported in the country.

As the government targets to immediately start its vaccination program, Go continued to stress the need to strengthen the enforcement of health and safety protocols imposed by the government to stop the further spread of Covid-19.

Earlier, Go said the emergence of a new Covid-19 variant should be a cause for concern as he urged concerned government agencies to closely monitor developments before deciding to relax restrictions further.

Maghahabulan na naman tayo kapag kumalat 'yang new variant na 'yan (The key is vaccination. We have yet to start with the vaccination but some want to ease the restrictions. We would only end up scampering if that new variant spreads)” Go added.

Go emphasized that cooperating with authorities can save lives as he warned those who will attempt to violate or go around protocols that the government will not tolerate such actions. (PR)
