MANILA – The Archdiocese of Manila on Saturday directed parishes to learn the song for the celebration of the 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines this year.

In a circular, Fr. Kali Pietre Llamaso, the archdiocese’s Minister of Music, urged parish priests, shrine rectors, chaplains, parish worship coordinators, parish coordinators of music ministers and transparochial communities in the Archdiocese of Manila urged them to learn the song for the celebration titled “We give our yes/Awit ng Misyon”.

“We encourage our choirs to start learning the song and to highlight it on February 7, Sunday, as we open the 500 Years celebrations in our parishes,” it said. “We ask you to coordinate with your parish Youth Ministry, Catechetical Ministry, and school Campus Ministry so they could guide the people in doing the action for the song.”

The song will serve as the recessional song in all the Masses in parishes, schools, and communities in the Archdiocese of Manila beginning next month.

“Following the instructions of our Apostolic Administrator Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo on the celebration of the 500 Years of Christianity in the Philippines, we are forwarding to you a copy of our Official Mission Song titled WE GIVE OUR YES / AWIT NG MISYON composed by our very own Fr. Carlo Magno Marcelo,” it added.
