MANILA – Four overseas voting registration centers in Metro Manila will be open starting next week to accept applications for registration in connection with the May 2022 national and local elections.

In a Facebook post, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) encouraged overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who will be out of the country from April 10 to May 9, 2022, to register to participate in absentee voting for next year’s polls.

These registration offices are at the following areas:

-Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) Registration Center, ground floor, Palacio del Gobernador Building, Intramuros, Manila;

-Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Aseana, Paranaque City;

-MARINA satellite office in SM Manila;

-POEA Main Office in Ortigas Ave. cor EDSA, Mandaluyong City.

The Comelec said qualified Filipinos (18 years of age and above) may register as overseas voters.

For those who are already in the host country, they can register at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate near them.

“Filipinos who are already overseas can also register at the nearest Philippine Embassy or Consulate in their area,” it added.

The poll body advised them to contact the Embassy or Consulate before their visit in case they will need to schedule an appointment ahead of time.

The last day of registration is on Sept. 30, 2021. (PNA)
