'Auring'-affected families now 56.6K: NDRRMC

MANILA – The number of families affected by the onslaught of Tropical Storm Auring has reached 56,636, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Thursday.

In its update, the NDRRMC said this figure can be broken down into 54,480 families in Caraga Region; 1,337 families in Northern Mindanao; 803 families in Davao Region; 15 families in Bicol and one family in Eastern Visayas.

The death toll from the storm stands at one with two injured and four missing, all in Caraga.

The NDRRMC added that these figures are still under validation.

Meanwhile, houses damaged were placed at 1,025, of which 320 were classified as totally damaged and 705 partially damaged in Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Davao Region.

Agriculture damage was placed at PHP79.38 million while infrastructure losses were estimated at PHP4.6 million, all in Caraga. (PNA)
