ZAMBOANGA CITY--The City Health Office led a vaccination simulation activity Saturday at the covered court of Barangay Sta. Maria as part of its preparation for the nationwide coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination program.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said the activity aims to determine the preparedness of this city for the actual vaccination roll-out in the coming months.

A series of simulation activities would also be conducted in the different health districts in this city.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the simulation would help address the gaps and challenges in the preparations.

Dr. Joshua Brillantes, DOH-Region 9 director, gave a seven out of 10 rating for Saturday's mock vaccination activity.

“Congrats Mayor Beng, ZC (Zamboanga City) Covid Vaccination Team and uniformed personnel for a job well done. We will continue to convince our constituents to accept this vaccination,” Brillantes, who witnessed the simulation, said.

Dr. Afdal Kunting, Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) chief of hospitals, and Dr. Maritess Maxino, president of the local chapter of the Private Hospitals Association of the Philippines, Inc., also expressed support to the local government's vaccination initiative. (PNA)
