MANILA – The Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has advised the public that voter certifications would only be released on Fridays starting March 12.

“Releasing of the requested certifications shall be schooled (on) Fridays only, or on the 12th and 19th of March 2021,” it said in an advisory on Thursday.

The advisory was issued after the Comelec decided to temporarily close offices at its main office in Intramuros, Manila from March 11 to 24 due to reported cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

“Please be informed that the Office for Overseas Voting at the Comelec main office will be closed from 11 to 24 March 2021 for the implementation of preventive measures against the spread of Covid-19,” it said.

Despite the physical closure, OFOV personnel will work from home and contact applicants to verify their registration during regular office hours from Mondays to Fridays.

On the other hand, the OFOV also advised registered overseas voters and overseas voting registrants with urgent and emergency travel needs, to contact the office through its online communication channels: OFOV official Facebook Page: (http://fb.com/overseasvotingph) and the Official OFOV email address for Overseas Voters’ Concerns: ([email protected]).
